Seriously, I've seen so many foreign films, despite so many being bizarre and odd based on not being used to other cultures, their acting were always still convincing, even the BAD ones. Asian acting and gestures done in films always seems so cartoony and cringe worthy than actually good. It's safe to say it's bad acting, I'm not going to let the excuse of "to them it's fine", if it's unconvincing and stupid, it's unconvincing and stupid no matter where you're from.

I never liked her. It's not just about "OMG GOKU DOESN'T SOUND MANLY", but because to me, she just doesn't fit. DB fans have to get the fuck over the "But Goku has a childlike innocence" and crap. That is no god damn excuse, your voice doesn't magically fit if it works for your personality, that's not how the body works.

As a cartoon, you need to get someone to fit visually to the character as well act how they should be, you don't just get some random out of place voice just because they can do one thing right(which I myself, don't actually believe either, Nozawa doesn't have the diversity in her acting that people claim that she has, half of her grunts and moods always sound the damn same, the only time she ever sounds different is when she's playing Goku pissed as fuck or when she plays as a child(since randomly she starts giving a shit and actually fits the emotion of the character whether they're happy, sad, angry, and so forth), I wouldn't be surprised if her noises were stock sound like Metabee's "Look Pal/WUT?/Hmmhmm Dat's Right/etc." lines in the Metabots dub either.

Now, like I said before, a voice needs to fit both the look/design of a character in a cartoon as well as actually act good and play like the character does. This doesn't mean Goku should randomly get some buff manly voice just because he's a fighter, but that doesn't mean he should have an old granny voice either, and if people are so desperate on saying he should have a light hearted woman voice, at least they should've got Kenshin's Japanese VA, she would have done a whole lot better than Nozawa BECAUSE SHE CAN ACT, not make unrealistic "KEKEKEKE" noises and out of place shit.

The Japanese anime isn't the "ORIGINAL", it's just an adaptation of the manga, their casting choices aren't full proof perfect picks all the time, hell, half of Toei's decisions and their production of the anime is shit. Even if AT had a hand in bringing up some decisions and had A-OK thumbs up for the voices, that doesn't mean he is magically bullet proof from criticism either, just because he and Toei says what his characters are like doesn't mean they're the best choices, they can still be terrible. To me, Nozawa sucks. Either get an average young male VA or get Kenshin's VA if you're so DESPERATE for a woman to play as him, just don't get that old hag anymore.

And fuck the English dub choices before anyone brings it up, I don't care about it, this is specifically criticism of the casting choice for Goku in the Japanese version, I couldn't care less about all the English voices, there's too much to either praise or nit pick.
