This actually has real battling in it to the point where trainers can kill the pokemon, and how Spearows can pimp slap music (wish I werent kidding). It's good so far, different form the games thats for sure, way different.
3 gym leaders are bad guys, one of them I thought was gonna be a good guy form the manga that I have that gym leader was a good guy.
Misty has her Gyarados , and electric still beats rock somehow.

the art style is fugly at the beginning, but quickly evolves into what it's known to look like in the anime

the story is good, and i just got to my absolute FAVORITE part of the series; yoh's past (it FINALLY gets revealed in chapter 163, THREE YEARS after the series started >_>) its better than the rest of the fucking series combined.
